As the days get shorter and the leaves change colors, fall is in the air and more importantly if you live in the south like me, the much cooler temperatures. Cause BAAAAYYBEEE this summer was HOOOOOOTTTTT!! Now it's time for the the fashion world to usher in a new season, and trust me, this season is going to be one for the books. So, grab a cozy spot, and let's chat about the trends that are set to redefine our wardrobe. When I looked over the trends for this fall I selected the fall trends that I love the most and that already fit my own personal style. Remember that this is one of the most important things you can do when looking at trends. Now let's jump right into the trends!
1. Shades of Red: Alright, let's kick things off with a trend that's close to my heart—shades of red. Picture fiery scarlet, deep burgundy, and everything in between. This season, red is the showstopper, adding warmth and vibrancy to our fall looks. What do you think of this beautiful red leather skirt? Whether it's a stunning red dress, a classy crimson blazer, or just some bold red accessories, this trend is all about making a statement. I'm definitely thinking of adding a chic red leather skirt or a silky red blouse to my collection. What about you?
2. Color Blocking: Fall is the season to get creative with colors, and that's where color blocking comes in. You can pair contrasting hues to create head-turning outfits. Think cobalt blue with burnt orange, forest green with mustard yellow. Or you can create a monochromatic color block by even mixing and matching various shades of the same color such as red. Personally I love creams and whites. So this cream sweater and shorts combo would be perfect for me. It's really like being an artist with our wardrobe, and I can't wait to experiment with this one.
3. Gothic Glamour: For those days when we want to embrace our mysterious side, there's the gothic glamour trend. We're talking lace, velvet, and leather in moody, dark tones. Black is, of course, a staple and super simple to use in wearing gothic clothing. Like the picture we have here. We have lots of black but each black pieces adds something different to the ensemble. But this trend also welcomes deep purples, dark greens, and, yes, shades of red. Picture flowing maxi dresses, lace-up boots, and accessories adorned with intricate details. This trend adds a touch of drama and allure to our fall outfits.
4. Long Coats: Here's something I'm really excited about—long coats. I have been collecting nice long coats for years now. It's definitely my time to shine now! Long coats are the perfect blend of style and functionality. This season, oversized, floor-sweeping coats are all the rage in shades of red, camel, charcoal, and more. Pair them with knee-high boots, and you've got an effortlessly chic look that's also super warm. It's like wrapping ourselves in elegance.
5. Luxurious Silks: Silk, my friend, is synonymous with luxury . I love the quality and versality of silk. It is a great fabric that can be wore year round. And it's having a moment this fall. You'll find silk blouses, dresses, and even silk-lined blazers making their way into our wardrobes. The smooth feel of silk against our skin, along with its lustrous appearance, is simply irresistible. This trend is all about adding a touch of refinement to our fall looks.
6. Leather Sets: I have said it once and I will say it again. I love leather! Leather has come a long way from just biker jackets. Fall 2023 is all about leather sets—coordinating leather tops and bottoms that give our outfits a modern, edgy twist. We saw Coco Jones wear a leather set just last week at the VMA. Go check out my Pinterest if you would like to see how I would style the leather skirt here or alternative leather skirt options here. Whether it's in shades of red or other bold colors, pairing these sets with combat boots gives us an effortlessly cool and daring look.
7. Sheer Allure: Subtle sensuality is the name of the game with the sheer trend this fall. I absolutely love how sexy and sensual a good sheer piece of clothing can be. There are so many ways you can style sheer clothing. You can wear the sheer piece if you are comfortable. Or try layering sheer blouses, dresses, or skirts over opaque pieces to create outfits that leave an intriguing impression. And yes you guessed it, deep reds and dark hues are the stars here, adding a touch of mystery to our fall ensembles.
8. Classic Pleating: Pleats are back, and they're here to stay. Now there are many different ways that you can incorporate pleats into your wardrobe. Whether it's a pleated skirt, dress, or blouse, this trend adds texture and movement to our fall wardrobe. It's the kind of detail that makes our outfits stand out, and shades of red complement pleats beautifully.
9. Tights for Every Occasion: Don't underestimate the power of tights in transforming our fall outfits. Experiment with textured and patterned tights to elevate your style. You can wear luxury tights or a simple pattern. And this season, red tights are all the rage, Imagine an all red monochromatic ensemble with red tights adding a pop of color and warmth to the look. Plus, tights are perfect for those cooler days.
So, as we navigate and transition our wardrobe from the summer to the fall with these fashion trends, remember that the key is to embrace our personal style. Mix and match, experiment, and don't be afraid to make bold choices. This season is all about self-expression and celebrating our unique, confident selves. Let's step into the world of fall fashion with these trends and let our elegance shine through. It's going to be a stylish journey, and I'm thrilled to share it with you!
