The Year of Upgrades: Setting Goals

Hey! I want to continue our conversation on upgrading our lives. Last week we discussed taking one year to elevate and upgrade our lives. As we enter this year, it's time to prioritize various aspects of our life, empowering ourselves to unlock our full potential. From enhancing physical well-being to curating a wardrobe, and from prioritizing mental health to nurturing glowing skin, each upgrade is a step towards becoming the best version of yourself. First, let's review that we need will focus on. You can find it here. For each area I make personal goals for myself. Then I make a plan for how I would like to accomplish each goal and when I wanted the goal completed. I break each goal into different time increments which include 1 year, 6 months, 3 months,4-6 weeks, 2 weeks, weekly, and daily. You can find a few of my personal goals below.


Setting Personal Goals:

  1. Fit and Healthy Body: Set a goal to engage in physical activity at least three times a week for 30 minutes each session. Incorporate more fruits and vegetables into meals, reducing processed foods. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to stay well-hydrated.

  2. Good Dental Care: Schedule bi-annual dental check-ups and cleanings. Consider teeth whitening treatment within the next three months to achieve a brighter smile. Consultation appointment with orthodonist for teeth alignment.

  3. Nurturing Glowing Skin: Develop a daily skincare routine and stick to it consistently. Seek professional advice for a personalized skincare plan within the next month.

  4. Great Manicure: Commit to weekly at-home nail care and for pampering with a professional manicure every two months.

  5. Curated Wardrobe: Organize the closet, donate items no longer worn, and create a capsule wardrobe of essential pieces within the next two weeks. Set a budget to invest in a few high-quality garments over the next six months.

  6. Mental Health and Therapy: Research therapists in the area and schedule an initial appointment within the next week. Implement a daily mindfulness or meditation practice for at least 10 minutes to reduce stress and foster inner peace.

With clear goals set for each area, I am able to start making my desired changes. You can do the exact same. Let's now make a set of goals for you and plan for how you would like to accomplish these objectives and when you want each of them completed. Breaking down goals into actionable steps and setting deadlines will help focus and motivation.

In this Year of Upgrades, let's embrace each aspect of our personal development journey with dedication and enthusiasm. Remember, these upgrades are not about conforming to societal ideals but about embracing and enhancing our unique selves. By taking steps towards self-care, growth, and self-expression, we empower ourselves to confidently navigate life with a renewed sense of style and self-assurance.
